Stained glass art
Fused glass picture Kynance Cove

Tricia's story

I became hooked on glass during a short stained glass course and have never looked back.  The colours, texture and light reflection and refraction, give glass a depth which is tantalizing.

Inspired by nature and what 'is', I creat pieces that capture the essence of the subject matter.  Much of my fused glass reflects and echoes the colours and textures of Cornwall's natural world from the farmland surrounding my home to the coast nearby.  Nevertheless flexibility has allowed me to produce works depicting far off towns and countries.

As a designer-maker each piece of my work is individually designed, the glass cut, prepared and fired in the kiln, a process taking several days.  I adapt my style as appropriate from painterly to stylistic and designs range from highly detailed, to abstract, to organic, to generic.

To hone my skills I worked hard to achieve a Master of Arts Degree in Glass Art and Design at the University of Wales.  For my final project I created site specific artworks designed for the Eden Project combining kiln formed glass with wood, granite and John's wrought iron work.

Whether a stunning piece to hang on the wall, a light changing window panel, encapsulated in a sealed, double glazed unit, or a brilliantly beautiful bowl, my distinctive, stylish and elegant glass is innovative and unique.
Commissions are welcome for fused glass items and mosaics and I work with clients to perfect designs and delight them with the finished work.
